Hi All,

I tried with Windows server native backup utility, the backup completed with error {565}:- "The consistency check for the component '16d37271-0e43-430b-af5b-5797bd369099'\'Microsoft Exchange Server\Microsoft Information Store\MBX02' has failed. The application 'Exchange' will not be available in the backup created at '‎2012‎-‎09‎-‎06T12:06:51.507973200Z'. Review the event details for information about consistency check issues"

Hi,

I had the same problem.

I run Windows back up to back up my exchange server 2010. it gives me the same consistency check failed and no logs were truncated. Tried so many things didn’t work.

I solved the problem by following below steps.

1. Make a full server back up even if it gives errors.

2. Enabling circular logging for the first data base.

3. Mount and dis mount the data base to apply circular logging option. (This will take minute or two depending on the size of your logs)

Now you will see all the logs belongs to that data base get deleted and big difference in the disk space.

4. Go back and Disable circular logging.

5. Mount and dis mount the data base to apply circular logging option

Do this to all the data bases and run Windows back, it will show successful.

I tried this at first to see if it worked and it did. I know that a lot of people do not like deleting their logs, but I did, and it worked. I went back quite a bit and deleted ALL of the log files on my server up to about a month, or so. The consistancy checker likes to go back and check all of the logs. After that I have not had a single problem with my backups. I hope that this helps!

I changed my logging to circular and remounted the database within seconds all the log files are gone then I unchecked the circular logging and remounted the database after that I took a backup and it went fine with out any problems...! I hope this helps others...!

Hi
   If you install sp1 Ru3, you should read this blog and install RU3 v2.
   According to your event error id, I find similar case .

We don't have DAG. It used to work fine only recent change is we installed Rollup 3.

   If a server hosting the data being backed up is a member of a database availability group (DAG) and hosts both active and passive database copies, you must disable the Microsoft Exchange Replication service VSS writer. If the Microsoft Exchange Replication service VSS writer is enabled, the backup operation will fail.
    You can read this article.

Hello,

We recently migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010. We moved all the mailboxes and decommissioned the 2003 server. Recently I noticed when I take the backup I'm getting the following errors..!

Config:

Windows 2008 R2 witl Mailbox server Role no DAG. We use Windows Backup and take Custom and VSS Full Backup.

Event ID : 565:

The consistency check for the component 'd20770c6-1dd7-44a8-b39b-508d00d0aa10'\'Microsoft Exchange Server\Microsoft Information Store\EXMB01' has failed. The application 'Exchange' will not be available in the backup created at '‎2011‎-‎04‎-‎02T07:22:18.143003700Z'. Review the event details for information about consistency check issues.

Event ID 9782:

Exchange VSS Writer (instance 2c93e0fd-ef6d-435a-83a8-7d185ff44ea2:1) has completed the backup of database 'Mailbox Database' with errors. The backup did not complete successfully, and no log files were truncated for this database.

Exchange VSS Writer (instance 2c93e0fd-ef6d-435a-83a8-7d185ff44ea2:1) has completed the backup of database 'Public Folder Database' with errors. The backup did not complete successfully, and no log files were truncated for this database.

Hi,

I had the same problem.

I tried this at first to see if it worked and it did. I know that a lot of people do not like deleting their logs, but I did, and it worked.
